It’s Remembrance Day.
From a very young age, I would talk to the children about the WW1 and WW2. I bought age appropriate and educational books about these important wars that showed the cruelty and sadness that the world had seen. Too often I saw how people forgot about the sacrifices of many that helped form the world that we lived in today.

However, there were stories of courage and kindness too. Reading and watching documentaries about how so many castles in England turned into hospitals, about how many high profile people smuggling the persecuted people out of the country….

One example, Highclere Castle was turned into a hospital by the 5th Countess of Carnarvon for the injured soldiers in World War One. Even during Second World War, it was the home of evacuees. You might recognize this castle…
